Student Council: [Advisor: Jessica Eichhorn] The Grice Student Council works with the school administration to provide activities and services for the students, the school, and the community. Student Council projects include school dances, spirit days, Turkey Shoot, Penny Wars, and Bunny Shoot.
Yearbook: [Advisor: Megan Wilson] The Yearbook Club meets one day a week (after school) for approximately 4-5 months. The students help choose photos, brainstorm ideas for layouts, edit spelling and grammar, choose the cover, and help advertise and sell the yearbook throughout the year. They also deal with counting money and keeping track of yearbooks sold.
Robotics Club: [Advisors: Maria Cesaro-Golding and Brandy Route] The Grice Robotic Club meets twice per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:15-4:15. Members of the club work together to grow their critical thinking skills by constructing a challenge course out of legos, constructing a robot, and programming the robot to complete challenges on the course. The course design is sponsored through the FIRST Lego League National Program. Each year, the FIRST Lego Program develops a new challenge theme for students to solve and build upon their STEM skills. The season ends in November with a district competition.
Battle of the Books Club: [Advisors: Maria Cesaro-Golding and Nirali Parekh] The Battle of the Books Club meets every other week on Wednesdays, from 3:15-4:15, throughout the school year. Battle of the Books is a national reading incentive program that promotes youth reading and comprehension through a Family Feud study friendly competition. Club advisors encourage students to gain a love of reading through games and activities. Audiobooks, group reads, acting out favorite scenes and other activities are some of the fun exercises incorporated into the program.
Pokémon Club: [Advisor: Maria Cesaro-Golding] The Pokémon Club meets every other week on Wednesdays, from 3:15-4:15, throughout the school year. This club provides a safe space for students with a shared interest to gather with old friends and make new friends. Students can participate in a number of activities, including playing the game, trading cards, and discussing various Pokémon topics. The club promotes skills like strategic thinking, positive sportsmanship, and imaginative play without the use of technology and electronics. Participants are required to bring their own cards if they wish to participate in the game or trading. They can also opt to watch and learn from more advanced collectors and discuss the ins and outs of the Pokémon Universe.
